A DB Post Type, is a configured connection to a database table. This results in a new post type that is populated from the entries in the table.
While reference posts are created in the new post type, the data remains in the table and is not duplicated. Instead, a link between the reference post and the source entry is created.
Creating the Post Type
Browse the the DB Post Types menu link, and click “Add New Type”. This will bring up a Modal.
Only the fields in “General” are required.
Once filled in, click “Add” and your DB Post Type is created.
In the resulting list, you’ll see a “Sync” button. Click the button to create the initial entry references. This only needs to be done on the first creation.
Your Post type screen will be listed below the DB Post Types admin menu.
